KEEPING COMMITMENTS

DO WHAT YOU SAY!! 

Nothing earns TRUST more than doing what you said you are going to do.  Conversely, nothing destroys TRUST faster than not doing what you said you would do. 

“Never fail to meet a business engagement, however irksome it may be …” is a business maxim from The Business Guide published in 1896. Trust Handshake

In Steven Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People he states “Keeping a commitment or promise is a major deposit; breaking one is a major withdrawal … [from the emotional bank account aka reservoir of TRUST]”. 

In The Speed of Trust, Covey’s son Stephen M.R. Covey states that “keeping commitments is the ‘Big Kahuna’ of all behaviors.  It’s the quickest way to build trust in any relationship”. 

I was recently a keynote speaker at a leadership conference of professional construction contractors to share my expertise on the topic of Service Excellence. 

In brief Service Excellence requires exceptional customer service, exceeding customer expectations and the reliability to do what we say we will do.  Service Excellent organizations “Promise the Best, Deliver The Promise”.   

TRUST is so important to me that I made it part of my company nameNIEMI TRUST.  It is my stated commitment to be the most trusted advisor to my clients who choose to do business with me.  

Earn TRUST.  Earn Respect.  Earn a positive reputation one promise at a time by keeping to all commitments.  Then do it over and over and over again. 

A good reputation is hard to earn and easy to lose.  I also devoted a chapter to this, the very first chapter, in my book The Magic Pill ©
